HELLO! We are Sherry and Joe Drebnicki. We share our home ~ and our lives ~ with two incredible Shiloh Shepherd dogs, Misty & Nimbus. We have both always been animal lovers. Joe had a dog as a boy growing up in Winnipeg Manitoba, and had cats for most of his adult life. | |

As a child, I (Sherry) was animal crazy. I would constantly bring home frogs, toads, birds, turtles and kittens. When I was twelve years of age, I met a school friend on a street corner and bought a puppy. I gave my friend $2.00 in dimes, and he gave me a shoe box containing a little puppy. This was the beginning of my love affair with dogs... In the spring of 2006, we were ready to add a second dog to our family (at the time, we had Kaya, our 12-year-old Akita/Shepherd cross). We started looking in magazines and on the Internet for the perfect breed of dog. We were thinking of a smaller breed; perhaps a Sheltie or a Shiba Inu. |

We found the Shiloh Shepherd, and we were hooked! So much for a small dog... In researching the breed, we found that the dogs we were drawn to were bred by Jan & Louis Burke of Miracle Shilohs on Prince Edward Island. I contacted Jan to find out if there were any puppies available from a litter that was born on May 12th. Much to our delight, a female puppy was available! Little Miss Purple, a black and silver dual, became our beautiful Misty! |

Misty was a delightful puppy; sweet, loving and mischievous. We were so pleased with Misty that soon we were talking about adding a male Shiloh to our pack. As I was searching for the perfect boyfriend for Misty, I learned that Sequoia Shepherds had a litter with five incredible dark dual boys. I contacted Jan and asked her to take a look at the litter; Jan called me back and said “Sherry, I like the look of that litter.” A few weeks later we were driving to Maryland to pick up our Nimbus. |

It’s amazing how much two little furry beasts can change your life. We often say our life has “gone to the dogs,” and we wouldn’t have it any other way! After only a handful of conformation shows, Misty is now a Breed and Canadian Champion! And, Nimbus is well on this way to attaining the same milestones. Misty loves being shown; she loves the attention and the opportunity to meet new people and dogs. Nimbus is coming along nicely; our reserved “baby boy” is learning that meeting new people can be fun. Meanwhile, I love the ribbons! We hope that Misty will have the first litter of Island Mist beauties in 2008. Check back often for updates... |
